• Dr. (Prof) Gourdas Choudhuri, holding the titles MD, DM, FACG, FICP, FAMS, and FRCPI, is the Director and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. A distinguished gastroenterologist, educator, and researcher, Dr. Choudhuri is also known for his contributions as a columnist and philanthropist. He completed his training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
• Dr. Choudhuri pioneered the introduction of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Biliary Lithotripsy (ESWL) in India. Under his guidance, the Department of Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, grew into one of the top five departments in the country. He has played a significant role in advancing liver and digestive healthcare across India and has served on various scientific boards and journals. As a past president of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Dr. Choudhuri is also highly respected as an educator, with over 200 scientific publications and numerous orations and awards to his name.
