A Trigger Point Injection (TPI) is a medical procedure used to alleviate myofascial pain, particularly in areas such as the neck, shoulders, arms, legs, and lower back. Trigger points are sensitive, painful “knots” that develop in the muscles due to muscle fiber contraction. These knots may form after acute trauma or repetitive stress, resulting in muscle fibers becoming locked in a contracted state.
